Why Counselling?

Choosing to see a counsellor can be a big step in a person’s life journey and you may be experiencing feelings, emotions and life events that are difficult to cope with. You may have reached the point of needing to talk, but unsure of who to turn to. You may want something or someone to be different. You may be lacking purpose or meaning in what you do. Or you may not know why, but are experiencing low mood, depression or anxiety. Whatever the reason, counselling can help.

We are so unique and different from one another, but we are all people and share many human experiences. Such as the loss of someone you love or the joy of your child being born, or the fear of losing your job.  These are individual experiences and will effect people differently, but they are also shared experiences of being human. I believe our differences come from personality, past experiences, relationships, the culture we are part of, idiosyncrasies, the choices we make, and the meaning or lack of in our lives.

Counselling offers a safe place for you to talk about whatever you need to talk about. You can share things that seem too difficult to share with family and friends. I am impartial, but I do care and want the best for you. I offer a partnership of complete confidence where you are free to talk. I will listen to you whilst we explore together.
